Lynchburg Defeats Hockey

Lynchburg Scores Twice in Second Half to Win, 3-1

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team opened its 2021 spring season with a 3-1 ODAC loss at Lynchburg Friday night. 

Lynchburg (1-0, 1-0 ODAC) used a 7-4 penalty corner advantage to defeat Shenandoah (0-1, 0-1). 

HOW IT HAPPENED

LYN 8:32 | Emily Dudley found Brittany Claybaugh for Lynchburg's first goal following a penalty corner early on. 
SU 17:56 |  Kelsey Jones ripped a shot into the upper left corner after the team was awarded a penalty stroke. 
LYN 37:27 | Off another penalty corner, Emma Strouse fed Dudley to give LYN a 2-1 advantage. 
LYN 53:58 | Taylor Green put away an insurance goal for the hosts.
