WINCHESTER, Va. – Fourth-seeded Shenandoah University has earned a trip to the ODAC Field Hockey Tournament semi-finals thanks to an 11-2 quarterfinal round victory over Bridgewater Tuesday evening.
 
Shenandoah (7-3) advances to Friday's semi-final round contest at top-seeded Lynchburg.
IN BRIEF
The Hornets had their most prolific offensive output in 11 seasons of ODAC tournament play with the 11 goals scored versus BC (4-6). The 11 goals scored also ties an 11-0 victory over Ferrum on Oct. 5, 2019 as the second-highest single game goal total in program history.
 
Elizabeth Ranberger scored the initial two goals of the game for Coach 
Ashley Smeltzer-Kraft, scoring unassisted at 6:48 and 8:50.
 
Kylee Tuebner and 
Serena Farmer made it 4-0 by the end of one with unassisted goals at 12:59 and 13:40, respectively.
 
Shenandoah, which has now made nine consecutive appearances in the ODAC Tournament semi-finals, turned the game into a rout with three goals in a span of 2:22 midway through the second.
 
Hannah Mink, 
Cassidy Morrison, and 
Lauren Tyre had the three goals with Tuebner assisting on Morrison's tally.
 
The third brought more of the same with Morrison and 
Kelsey Jones scoring 81 seconds apart early in the stanza.
 
Bridgewater scored its two goals at the 1:08 mark of the third and with 5:43 remaining in the contest.
 
Hailey Colt closed out the night's scoring with an unassisted goal with 35 seconds left. Colt's tally came after Jones scored unassisted at 3:02.
 
Hornets goalkeeper 
Isabella Morande had to make two saves.
 
SU outshot the Eagles, 25-5, and took 10 of 11 penalty corners.
