Tigers Pull Away from Men's Lax

H-SC Wins, 19-10

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. - Host Hampden-Sydney held Shenandoah University to just two goals in the middle 30 minutes of the game Saturday on its way to a 19-10 ODAC men's lacrosse victory over the Hornets Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (4-7, 2-6 ODAC) trailed by just one goal, 4-3, after 15 minutes of play versus the league-leading Tigers (9-1, 6-0).

IN BRIEF

Unfortunately for the Hornets, H-SC held Shenandoah to just two goals over the next two periods as it turned the 4-3 contest into a 15-5 lead.

Chris Baker and Logan Clingerman, with goals at 14:15 and 12:40 of the fourth, ended the drought for SU.

The two teams then traded the next four goals before Hampden-Sydney scored two of the final three goals of the game to provide the final margin.

Chris Baker led the Hornets with two goals and two assists for four points with Tyler Held scoring three goals and Baker's twin brother, Jay Baker, tallying two goals. Clingerman rounded out the multiple-point scorers with a goal and an assist.

Mark Isabelle had 19 saves in 54:47 of action.

H-SC had a 66-29 edge in shots, 52-25 in groundballs, and 25-7 in faceoffs.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah completes its regular season with a 1 p.m. ODAC contest at Guilford next Saturday.
