WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team completed its regular season Saturday with a 22-12 ODAC Senior Day victory over the University of Lynchburg.

Senior
Alyson Bittinger, one of five SU (6-6, 5-2 ODAC) women recognized prior to the game, notched a career-high 10 goals in dispatching Lynchburg (9-5, 5-3).

The 10 goals scored is the second-best performance in school history, trailing only a 12-goal performance from Deanna Estes '98 versus Hollins University on Apr. 13, 1998.

Bittinger had six of her goals in the first half as Shenandoah jumped out to a 14-7 advantage. Her final tally, with 34 seconds remaining, ended up being the final action of the game as the running clock kicked in with SU's 10-goal advantage and time ran out prior to taking the draw.

Junior
Emma Stiffler added seven goals as the hosts scored the first two goals of the game and led wire-to-wire.

Lynchburg was able to cut its deficit to one goal on three occasions, the last with 13:26 remaining in the first. Bittinger scored her fifth goal 82 seconds later to start a four-goal run for the victors.

Shenandoah would hold at least a four-goal lead for the remainder of the game and did not allow its advantage to slip below six for the final 32:43 of play.

SU outshot its fellow Hornets, 31-26, but
Ashley MacFarlane made eight saves to hold off Lynchburg.

Shenandoah also won 21 of 35 draws while Lynchburg had a 13-12 advantage in groundballs.

Nine different women registered at least one point for the hosts. Bittinger and Stiffler were the only two with multiple goals.
Reilly Cisar and
Madison Re both had two assists with Cisar also scoring one goal.
UP NEXT
Shenandoah has clinched the No. 3 seed at the upcoming ODAC Tournament and will face the winner of the No. 6 Ferrum vs No. 7 Randolph-Macon game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the tournament quarterfinals. R-MC travels to Ferrum on Monday for the play-in game.
