SALEM, Va. – Host Roanoke College outlasted No. 13 Shenandoah Saturday to sweep an ODAC doubleheader from the Hornets.
The Maroons (14-6, 7-3 ODAC) were 3-2 winners in 10 innings in game one before completing the sweep over SU (12-3, 9-2) with an 11-8 victory in the nightcap.
GAME ONE
Roanoke scored two runs in the third, and after
Frankie Ritter knotted the contest at 2-2 with a two-run home run in the ninth, scored one in the bottom of the 10
th to escape with the 3-2 win.

Kooper Anderson to tie the game at 2-2.
Matt Moon, who had two of the Hornets five hits, led off the SU ninth with a walk. Anderson then came into run for him.
The Maroons scored the winning run on a leadoff double, an error and a single to right.
Luke Radazewski (0-1) took the loss after allowing an unearned run on two hits in 2 1/3 innings pitched.
GAME TWO
With the score tied at 2-2, Roanoke broke open the nightcap with two runs in the fifth, four in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
Shenandoah rallied with three in the eighth, but left the bases loaded as relief pitcher Aiden Kuhle struck out two batters to prevent further damage.
Colby Martin,
Pearce Bucher, and
Grant Thompson all had three hits with Bucher driving in three. He had an RBI single in the first, a run scoring double in the seventh and was hit by pitch with the bases loaded in the eighth.
Tristan Everett (1-1) was the losing pitcher after giving up two runs on three hits and one walk in 2 1/3 innings.
