WINCHESTER, Va.- The Shenandoah University's men's soccer team defeated Penn College of Technology 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match-up.
Shenandoah (2-2) walked away with the victory against Penn College (1-2-1) thanks to a goal by
Nathan Yared early in the second half.
IN BREIF
The lone goal was scored at the 47:07 mark of the game as
Nathan Yared found the open net after drawing the goalie out to the top of the box. The goal marks Yared's fourth goal in as many games.
The Hornets outshot the Wildcats 11-10 with just under half of the total shots being shots on goal. Each goalkeeper had four saves in the competition with SU goalie,
Dylan Johnson, earning the shutout.
Both teams committed 10 fouls with the Wildcats getting three yellow cards.
SU had seven total players record a shot today. Both
Nathan Yared and
Connor Robles led the team with three shots each.
Maynor Menendez led the way on defense by being the only defender to play the full 90 minutes.
