HARRISONBURG, Va. –  The Shenandoah University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday afternoon at a tri-match hosted by Eastern Mennonite University.

Shenandoah (3-7, 0-1 ODAC) was swept, 3-0, by host EMU in the opening match before Gallaudet rallied for a 3-2 win in the middle contest.

EMU MATCH
The Royals (3-3, 1-0) won 25-15, 26-24, 25-12 in the ODAC opener for both schools.

Shenandoah led 24-21 in the middle set only to see EMU rally with five straight points to steal the set win and set the stage for a sweep.

Sophomore
Jillian Warter paced SU with 13 kills with
Caitlyn Houck adding 17 assists.
Â
Defensively,
Kate Poppo had seven digs.
Â
GALLAUDET MATCH
The Hornets jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to 26-24 and 25-19 wins in the opening two sets but Gallaudet answered back with 25-19, 26-14, and 15-7 victories in sets three thru five to steal the win.

Warter had a team-high 21 kills with Poppo adding 14. Both women had double-doubles thanks to 21 digs for Warter and 14 for Poppo.

Houck and
Brooke Wagner split the setting duties with Houck posting 20 assists and Wagner 19.

The Bison improved to 4-7 with the win.
