BC defeats SU 1-0 in non-league contest

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team fell 1-0 at Bridgewater College Wednesday afternoon in a non-league contest.

The Hornets (5-5) were able to fend off the Eagles (4-4) for the first 75 minutes of the contest before giving up a cross from the right side in what would be the game-winner.

IN BRIEF
Bridgewater dominated possession and offensive opportunities through out the contest, outshooting Shenandoah 15-8.

The Hornets backline, and keeper Travis Jett, came up with several stops throughout the conference including a huge penalty kick save in the 63rd minute.

BC was awarded a PK after a tackle from behind in the box; David Franco lined up to take the kick for the hosts. Jett read the situation perfectly and dove to his right to come up with the ball just inside the post.

Minutes later, Trevon Phillips found Matthew Shelor for the lone goal of the contest.

Jett made three stops.

Shenandoah will host Guilford College Saturday at noon for Homecoming.
