BUENA VISTA, Va. – Host Southern Virginia University posted five pins on its way to a 42-12 non-league men's wrestling victory over Shenandoah University Wednesday evening.
 
Shenandoah (1-1) earned both of its wins by fall.
 
IN BRIEF
Starting the match at 157, the Knights (2-5) got on the board with a decision. SU answered right back with one of its two victories as Yuri Smaltz pinned James Wiggins in just 52 seconds at 165.
 
Southern Virginia then ran off a string of six straight wins in taking a commanding lead. SVU had three pins, two forfeit victories, and one decision in this run.
 
Colton White, at 141, earned the Hornets second victory of the night with a pin of Sawyer Ferry at the 4:16 mark.
 
The Knights closed out the match victory with a fall at 149.
