MANHEIM, Pa. - Shenandoah University senior wrestler Sean Rinebolt has earned a Scholar All-American award from the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), as announced in a press release by the organization on Thursday.

Rinebolt is a virtual reality design major and is the third Hornet to achieve this honor in the program's history, joining Dylan Weaver and Hunter Ballantine.

The senior finished his career with over 100 career wins, becoming the second SU wrestler to do so. Rinebolt took home All-ODAC Third Team this season, while also earning the conference's Lighter Weight Wrestler of the Week back in November.

The 133-pound wrestler was also named All-Region after placing seventh at regionals earlier this month.

This year, 473 student-athletes were recognized as Scholar All-Americans, with 105 institutions represented, including six of the seven ODAC schools.

To qualify for this recognition, wrestlers must achieve one of the following athletic benchmarks: place in the top eight at their respective regional tournament or maintain a win percentage above 66% with at least 15 matches wrestled. Academically, recipients must either hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher or maintain at least a 3.2 GPA over the last two semesters.
