BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Homestanding Bridgewater College rode a sizzling shooting performance Monday night to a 97-88 ODAC men's basketball victory over Shenandoah University.

Bridgewater (8-10, 4-6 ODAC) shot 62 percent from the field (32-of-52) in downing the Hornets (3-16, 2-8).

Shenandoah also shot the ball extremely well, making 34 of its 66 field goal attempts (52 percent), but could not keep up with the hot-shooting Eagles.

BC was 20-of-33 (61 percent) from the field in the first half to help fuel a 16-point, 50-34, lead heading into the locker room.

Trailing 77-64 with 7:53 to play, SU ran off a 6-0 run to make matters interesting with just a seven-point, 77-70, deficit by the 6:08 mark.

Unfortunately for the visitors, Bridgewater answered with the game's next five points and were never seriously threatened again. The Eagles held at least a nine-point lead the rest of the way and expanded the lead back out to 12 points in the final minute.

Jaylen Williams, the ODAC's leading scorer, returned after a one-game absence to lead all scorers with 25 points. Roberts and Anthony backed him up with 18 and 16 points, respectively.

Bridgewater also had a 36-23 advantage on the boards that led to 12 second chance points.
