VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Shenandoah University field hockey team opened up its ODAC slate Saturday afternoon with a 10-0 victory at Virginia Wesleyan.
Shenandoah (10-0, 1-0 ODAC) scored three goals in the opening 3:39 and never looked back versus the Marlins (2-6, 0-1).

Lauren Tyre had what held up as the game-winner, scoring 97 seconds in, with
Kelsey Jones tallying at 2:06 and
Mairead Mckibbin at 3:39.
In the second, Jones,
Cassidy Morrison,
Farren Winter, and
Kate Robinson all scored goals to give the Hornets a 7-0 halftime lead.
The Hornets, who shot VWU 33-0, took 17 of their shots in the initial 30 minutes of play.
Morrison, Robinson, and Mckibbin had the second half goals to put the finishing touches on the shutout victory.
Mckibbin and Morrison both finished with two goals and one assist with Jones and Robinson scoring two goals each.
Taylor Swann and
Taylor Bullis split time in goal with neither women seeing a shot.
NOTABLE
Shenandoah, the nation's leader in scoring margin, increased that to 5.4 per game with the 10-goal margin today. SU has outscored its opponents 62-8 this season.
