HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's soccer team earned its second ODAC draw of the season Wednesday evening with a 1-1 tie at Hampden-Sydney.
Shenandoah (3-5-3, 0-4-2 ODAC) scored the game's initial goal only to see H-SC (6-4-3, 1-3-2) get the equalizer with 2:20 remaining.

The Hornets opened the game's scoring at 32:06 as
Matthew Allen knocked home a
Maynor Menendez header from the doorstep of the Tigers goal. Awarded a free kick near the right sideline, Menendez headed the cross-goal kick from
Kyle Welch back to the center of the goalmouth where Allen ran onto it and tucked it just under the crossbar.
Hampden-Sydney, which outshot SU, 16-12, tied the game at 87:40.
Following the tying goal, Shenandoah had two shots and the Tigers one, with SU goalkeeper
Travis Jett making his third and final save with 36 seconds remaining to keep the game at level.
Twenty-four seconds later,
Nathan Yared had a shot on goal for the visitors that required a team save from H-SC.
Hampden-Sydney also had a 10-4 advantage on corner kicks.

Shenandoah returns home Saturday evening for a 7 p.m. ODAC game versus Bridgewater. This game is the final one in a Shentel tripleheader that starts with football versus Guilford at 1 and continues with women's soccer hosting Sweet Briar at 5.
