WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University volleyball team completed its home and ODAC slate Friday evening with a 3-0 loss to the University of Lynchburg.
Shenandoah (8-15, 4-8 ODAC) fell 25-11, 25-19, 25-17 to its fellow set of ODAC Hornets (14-11, 6-5).
IN BRIEF
Lynchburg hit a solid .232 for the match with 40 kills against 11 errors in 125 attempts. The visitors hit a match-high .324 in the opening set with 13 kills against just two errors in 34 attempts. The visitors took control of that set with four straight points early on, turning a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead and holding the advantage for the remainder of the set.
The second set was much closer, with the match tied at 19-19 until Lynchburg pulled away with a 6-0 run to finish the set. Lynchburg had three kills and service ace in this set-ending run as well as taking advantage of a pair of SU attack errors.
In the third, Lynchburg broke a 6-6 tie with a 7-0 run to give itself a 13-6 advantage. Shenandoah got no closer than three points the rest of the way.

Jillian Warter paced the hosts with nine kills with
Kate Poppo adding six and
Aaliyah Chunn five.
Poppo had a team-high 17 digs with
Regan Minney adding 12 and
Brooke Wagner 10.
Becka Nguyen rounded out the double-digit stats with 14 assists.

Shenandoah completes its season Saturday with a non-league tri-match at Mary Washington. The Hornets face Marymount in addition to the host Eagles.
