KERNSTOWN, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's cross country team led the Hornets Saturday with a third place finish at the 2022 ODAC Championships.
 
Hosting the championships at Kernstown Battlefield for the second time since 2018, the SU women finished third and the men sixth at the annual event.
 
WOMEN'S RECAP
The Shenandoah women had 107 points to come in four points in front of fourth place Bridgewater and tie the 2019 squad for the program's best-ever ODAC finish.
 
Coach Andy Marrocco's squad went 16-19-23-24-25 for its 107 total with sophomore Madeline Lotts posting that 16^th place showing.
 
Lotts had a 23:41.0 over the 6000-meter course.
 
Erin Atkinson was 20^th with Amy Oleksy, Sarah Christy, Emma Nicely, and Allie Clarkson 34^th through 37^th.
 
Lynchburg won the women's title with a perfect 15 points.
 
SU was 56 points back of runner-up Washington & Lee.
 
MEN'S RECAP
Lynchburg made it a clean sweep for the southern Hornets, recording another perfect 15 points to win the title by 36 points over Washington & Lee.
 
Shenandoah had 169 points to best Hampden-Sydney by 51 points. SU was 25 points back of fifth place Eastern Mennonite.
 
Jeremy Allinger had the men's top showing with a 28:15.7 that was good for 43^rd overall. Elias McGhie was 46^th, Ethan Harrower 55^th, Noah Hurd 60^th, and Joshua Canavan 73^rd to round out the Hornets qualifying runner over the 8000-meter distance.
 
UP NEXT
The women continue their season on Nov. 12 with the NCAA South Region Championships at Lee Hall Mansion in Newport News.
