FERRUM, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's wrestling team completed its dual meet schedule Friday evening with a 34-10 loss at Ferrum College.

Shenandoah (1-3) held a 4-3 lead after two matches but saw Ferrum (6-6) answer with three straight pins along with a forfeit to clinch the victory.

IN BRIEF

Dylan Weaver gave SU that 4-3 advantage with a 12-2 major decision victory over Michael Oliver at 174 pounds.

Weaver's win, in which he just missed registering a pin in the final minute, pushed Shenandoah ahead after George Vrachnos opened the match with a 9-4 loss at 165.

The Panthers then recorded pins at 184, 197, and heavyweight before taking a forfeit victory at 133 and clinching the victory.

Shenandoah's other victory came at 149 where Patrick Coffron won by injury default 80 seconds into the match. He and Tyler Ramirez had a series of moves where each nearly registered a takedown before tumbling out of bounds. Ramirez hurt his elbow during the series and was unable to continue.

That match came after Colton White had a hard-fought 9-5 loss at 141.

In the final match of the evening, Jalen Cornelius lost 11-3 to Christian Hite at 157.

Both teams forfeited at 125.
