WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's basketball team completed its regular season Saturday afternoon with a 84-59 senior day loss to Hampden-Sydney.
Hampden-Sydney (13-10, 8-8 ODAC) locked up the No. 7 seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament with the win over Shenandoah (4-21, 3-13).

Despite Saturday's loss, the Hornets qualified for the 10-team ODAC Tourney thanks to their 10-point win over Bridgewater Wednesday evening. Shenandoah and Randolph ended up tying for the 10
th and final spot in the tourney with SU earning it based on its 76-72 in Lynchburg over the WildCats on Jan. 15.
The win puts the Hornets into Monday's 10-seed versus 7-seed game. SU faces these very same H-SC Tigers in a 7 p.m. matchup.
Shenandoah and the Tigers battled back-and-forth in the opening 13 minutes of the game with SU able to pull out to a 25-20 lead by the 7:49 mark.
Unfortunately, Hampden-Sydney answered with a 20-4 run over the next 5:30 to take a 40-29 lead with 2:19 to play. The Tigers never trailed again.
Shenandoah was able to cut the deficit to just two, 42-20, at the 18:22 mark of the second only to see H-SC rip off the game's next nine points. Now with an 11-point advantage, the visitors did not let their lead slip below nine points the rest of the way.
Davion Roberts paced the hosts with 16 points while
Jaylen Williams added 12 and
Noah Adams 11.
The Hornets shot 44 percent (24-of-54) and pulled down 32 rebounds. H-SC was 32-of-66 from the field (49 percent) and had 39 boards.

Shenandoah travels to Hampden-Sydney Monday night for the opening round game of the ODAC Tournament. Game time is 7 p.m.
