WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's tennis team completed its week Sunday with a 5-2 ODAC loss to Guilford College.
Playing just to decision after weather issues forced a venue change from the Lowery Tennis Courts to the indoor courts at Winchester Country Club, the Hornets (1-4, 1-1 ODAC) battled Guilford (3-1, 2-0) throughout the day.

Playing outside, the Quakers took a 2-1 lead after doubles on the strength of an 8-7 (16-14) win at No. 2.
The Nos. 1 and 3 doubles matches went 8-1 with
Keith Orr and
Gene Perle-Jones combining for the victory at No. 1 for the hosts.
The rain hit at this point, delaying the match by three hours and shortening it to the decision-only format.
Orr got his second win of the day, winning 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1, but this would prove to be the Hornets final victory of the contest.
GC clinched the win with victories at Nos. 2, 3, and 4 singles.
The No. 3 match was the closest as
Vitali Rivera and Andrew Ferris had three-set match with Ferris prevailing 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. This match also clinched the team victory.
