HARRISONBURG, Va. – Shenandoah University banged out 15 hits Wednesday afternoon in a 12-11 ODAC baseball victory over host Eastern Mennonite.
Shenandoah (18-8-1, 5-4-1 ODAC) jumped all over the Royals (8-17, 4-8) for a combined nine runs in the first three innings but found itself in a game after EMU put up a six-spot in the sixth.

The Hornets led 9-2 after three thanks to a three-run first along with five in the second and one in the third. Shenandoah had a combined nine hits in the first third of the game with
Haden Madagan and
Kyle Lisa both hitting home runs in the five-run second.
After SU tacked on another two runs on four hits in the top of the sixth, Eastern Mennonite answered with six runs on five hits and one Hornets error in the bottom of the frame.
Leading 11-9 in the ninth, Shenandoah scored what proved to be the game-winning run as Lisa came around to score from second base as the Royals had an infield throwing error on
Anthony Ward's groundball to short.
EMU hit a two-run home run in the last of the ninth to come within one run at 12-11 before
Tad Dean got the final two outs on a strikeout and a flyout to post his first save of the season.
Dean pitched the final three innings and allowed two runs on two hits while striking out five.
Calvin Pastel (4-0) started and gave up seven runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk in 5 1/3. He turned it over to
Jacob Faivre, who got the final two outs of the sixth.
Frankie Ritter led the 15-hit attack with four hits in five at-bats with Lisa and
Pearce Bucher getting three hits each.
Lisa had five RBI and three runs scored as well as his three hits in five at-bats.
Matt Moon also had two hits.
