Baseball Awarded ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

The Shenandoah University baseball program was recognized as an ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award winner on Wednesday in an announcement made by the coaches' association.

The Hornets posted GPAs of 3.55 for the fall semester and 3.49 in the spring semester for the 2025-26 academic year, with the award given to teams that earn at least a 3.0 for that year. Shenandoah has been honored for an Academic Excellence Award every year since 2018-19.

During the spring semester, baseball had eight student-athletes with a 4.0 and 39 who achieved at least a 3.50. Additionally, 49 players were recently named All-Academic by the ODAC. 

Senior Jaime Padilla was named Academic All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association earlier this week, while Christian Carver, Michael Meyers, Jacob Gilbert, and Joey Mitchell each earned CSC Academic All-District honors earlier this summer.
