WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's soccer team opened up its 2022 season Thursday evening with a 2-0 non-league victory over Marymount University.
Shenandoah (1-0) scored one goal in each half to dispatch the Saints (0-2) for the fifth consecutive time in a series that dates back to the 1997 season.

Roxana Nielson tallied the initial goal of the game, finishing off a
Kristina Skulte feed at 16:17. The remainder of the first half was scoreless.

Alexis Andrews gave the Hornets some breathing room with her goal into the top right corner.
Now with a two-goal lead, Shenandoah could afford to sit back and make Marymount press the action. The SU defense was solid over the final 23 minutes, only allowing one shot on frame and
Kasie Kilmer made the stop to preserve the shutout.
Shenandoah outshot MU 12-2, and took 11 of the game's 13 corners.
Kilmer had two make just that one save to post her third career shutout.
