FREDERICK, Md. – Host Hood College rallied for a 3-2 non-league volleyball victory over Shenandoah University Thursday evening.

Shenandoah (0-1) won the first set, 25-19, and after Hood (1-0) answered back with a 25-15 win in the second, won the third 25-20 to put itself one set from clinching. Unfortunately, the Blazers had other ideas with 25-23 and 15-10 wins in the fourth and fifth sets, respectively.

Jillian Warter added 14 and both

Kylie Danella had 17 and 14 assists, respectively.

Natalie Reader had 22 digs with Warter adding 12 and Poppo 10. Nguyen just missed a double-double by posting nine digs.

The Hornets hit .250 (54 kills, 18 errors, 144 attempts) to .224 (55-20—156) for Hood.
