GAMBIER, Ohio – The Shenandoah University field hockey team opened up its weekend trip to Ohio Saturday with a 7-0 non-league victory over Kenyon College.
Shenandoah (3-0) scored one goal in the first and third, along three in the second and two in the fourth, to pull away from the Owls (1-2).

Kelsey Jones opened up the day's scoring by finishing off a
Farren Winter pass at 13:56. This goal held up as the game-winner.
In the second,
Mairead Mckibbin scored at 19:13,
Cassidy Morrison at 24:59, and
Lauren Tyre at 27:30. Winter assisted on Morrison's tally with Morrison setting up Tyre.
Tyre scored a second straight goal by opening the second half scoring off another Winter assist ay 32:49.
McKibbin had the penultimate goal of the afternoon, finishing off a
Claudia Lenahan pass at 49:19 before
Kate Robinson scored off of an
Elizabeth Ranberger assist at 58:32.
Shenandoah outshot Kenyon, 25-6, and had a 6-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Hornets goalkeeper
Taylor Swann had to make just two saves to register the shutout.
