WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's soccer team ran its season-opening unbeaten streak to seven games Saturday with a 2-0 non-league win over Eastern.
Shenandoah (5-0-2) scored one goal in each half to avenge a 2021 loss to Eastern (0-4-2).

Sarah Crusse scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 28
th minute when she took a loose ball in the middle of the 18-yard box, beat one defender at slipped her shot past Eagles goalkeeper Brooke Moskey.
Just 20 seconds into the second half, the Hornets made it 2-0 when
Elizabeth McGee crossed a perfect ball into the box where and on-rushing
Kristina Skulte headed it home.
Shenandoah, which outshot Eastern 19-2, now had an insurmountable lead. The Eagles had just one shot in the remaining 44:40 with Hornets keeper
Karissa Dominick making the save to post the combined shutout with
Kasie Kilmer. Kilmer played the final 13:29 of the game and did not have to make a save.
SU also had a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
