WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University volleyball team opened up its 2022 ODAC slate Tuesday evening with a 3-1 victory over visiting Hollins.
Shenandoah (4-5, 1-0 ODAC) was a 25-16 victor in the first set, and after Hollins (2-10, 0-3) took a 28-26 win in the second, the Hornets answered back with triumphs at 23 and 13 in the third and fourth, respectively, to close out the win.

There was a total of 24 ties and 14 lead changes in the match with the two teams trading the lead six times in the first, four in the second, and three in the third.
Shenandoah seized total control in the fourth by scoring 11 of the initial 13 points of the set and eventually pushing its lead out to 20-7 before Hollins scored six of the final 11 points of the match.
SU hit .124 (38-22—129) for the match and was a match-best .296 (11-3—27) in the fourth. The visitors were .022 for the match with 35 kills against 32 errors in 134 attempts.
Jillian Warter paced the victors with 17 kills and 12 digs with libero
Emma Thompson recording 24 digs.
Brooke Wagner and Becka Nguyen had 17 and 13 assists, respectively.
At the net,
Aaliyah Chunn had four blocks solo to go along with three blocks assisted.
