HARRISONBURG – Shenandoah University opened up its 2022 ODAC men's soccer slate Wednesday afternoon with a 1-1 tie at Eastern Mennonite.

Shenandoah (2-1-3, 0-0-1 ODAC) answered an EMU (1-4-2, 0-0-1) goal in the 17
th minute with one of its own in the 33
rd.

The Royals had struck first on an Ethan McGee to Ford DeVault goal at 16:40.

Following Zabava's goal, the two teams went the next 18 minutes before putting another shot on goal. Shenandoah, which outshot EMU 17-6 for the game, had that opportunity.

The Hornets only allowed one Eastern Mennonite shot on goal after the Royals tally in the 17
th minute.
Travis Jett had two saves in the effort.

SU also had a 3-2 advantage on corner kicks.

The contest was a physical one with eight yellow cards issued.
