Roanoke Defeats Men's Basketball

Hornets Fall, 98-64

SALEM, Va.- The Roanoke College men's basketball team defeated Shenandoah Univeristy 98-64 in an ODAC game Saturday played at the Bast Center.

The Hornets (3-12, 0-6 ODAC) held an early 9-7 lead but the Maroons (14-2, 7-0) went on a 9-0 run and never trailed again in the game that was moved from Roanoke's permanent home, the Cregger Center, because of a burst pipe beneath the playing surface.

IN BRIEF

Shenandoah got early baskets from Joshua Stephens and Binwi Bihai to give them its only lead of the game.

Bihai and Stephens lead the Hornets in points with 21 and 17 points, respectively.

SU cut the RC lead down multiple times but Roanoke's 56.7% shooting in the first half helped give the Maroons a 44-23 halftime lead.

Shenandoah's offense shot well in the second half, scoring 41 points in the final 20 minutes going 5 of 100 from beyond the arc and 13 for 23 from the field.

Roanoke out rebounded Shenandoah 32-26 and their bench outscored the Hornets reserves, 52-12.

UP NEXT
