FERRUM, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's basketball team completed its perfect week with a 60-47 ODAC victory at Ferrum College Saturday afternoon.
Shenandoah (10-5, 6-3 ODAC) opened the game on an 11-0 run, but needed an even bigger spurt to complete the third quarter to ultimately finish off the Panthers (6-10, 2-7).

Leading 15-9 after one, SU saw its hosts jump back into the contest with a 14-2 run to start the second that gave Ferrum a 23-17 lead.
Shawnise Campbell, who had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, ended the dry spell by hitting one of two from the line with 3:53 remaining. This free throw kickstarted a 9-2 half-ending run for the Hornets that put
Melissa Smeltzer-Kraft's club up one, 26-25, at the break.
The two teams then traded the lead twice and were tied on two other occasions over the initial 6:23 of the third before Shenandoah went on top to stay thanks to a
Maggie Rooklin 3-pointer at 3:37.
Rookin's '3', one of five on the day for her squad, began an 11-1 quarter-ending run that gave Smeltzer-Kraft's club its first double-digit lead, 45-35, as the fourth quarter dawned.
Campbell started the final stanza with a stick back of her own miss to push the lead to 12 points and give SU total control of the contest. Ferrum would get no closer than five points the rest of the way and was held to just one point over the final 3:40 of the contest.
Madisen Kimble and
Terese Greene backed up Campbell with 12 points each.
Shenandoah shot 19 of 50 (38 percent) for the game to 33 percent (14 of 43) for the Panthers. The two teams split 66 rebounds.
NOTABLE
The 13-point margin of victory is the closest of the season for SU. In the Hornets previous nine wins, they had outscored opponents by an average of 36.5 points.
