ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon defeated the visiting Shenandoah University women's basketball team 65-49 Wednesday in an ODAC contest.

After being tied at 30-30, the Yellow Jackets (13-5, 10-2 ODAC) went on a 35-19 run in the final quarter and a half to pull away from the Hornets (11-7, 7-5).

R-MC held SU scoreless for the first four minutes of the game. The two offenses shot a combined 20% (6 for 30) with defense being strong in the 12-6 quarter in favor of the home team.

The second quarter saw Shenandoah go 50% from the field and end the half on a 11-6 run ending the half.

Terese Greene lead the Hornets with six heading into the break. Ranolph-Macon's Catherine Kagey scored 10 points and seven rebounds for the Yellow Jackets in the first 20 minutes.

Shawnise Campbell scored six straight points in the third quarter helping SU tie the contest at 30 just over three minutes in. Campbell ended the game with 14 points, Greene came in second for SU with 11.

The Yellow Jackets kept the lead at a distance from SU, helped by a 17-4 run in the middle of the fourth. R-MC shot 53.8% in the last 10 minutes, their best out of any of the quarters in the game.

Kagey finished the game with a 28-point, 11-rebound double-double for the victors.
