WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's wrestling team completed its home dual meet slate Thursday night with a heartbreaking, 23-22, ODAC loss to Southern Virginia.
The two teams split the 10 matches but Southern Virginia (4-3, 2-2 ODAC) used a pin, two technical falls, and a major decision to best Shenandoah (2-7, 0-5) by a single point.

The Knights led wire-to-wire after starting with a technical fall win at 125.
Trailing 19-7 after SVU combined that technical fall victory at 125 with a fall at 141, a decision at 149, and a technical fall at 165, Shenandoah began its comeback with Dylan Weaver's 8-2 decision over Tyson Hoopes at 174.
The victory is Weaver's 25th of the year in 31 matches.
Hunter Thompson then brought the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center crowd to its feet by pinning Ikia Garcia in 1:55 of the 184-pound match and cutting the Hornets deficit to three, 19-16.
Unfortunately for the Wilkins Center crowd, Jaden Markus used a late stalling call combined with the riding time point to best Dylan Wiegert, 9-1, at 197 to clinch the match for the visitors.
Kaden Bryan answered back for SU by pinning Igor Lakicevic in 2:34 at heavyweight to provide the final score.
Shenandoah's other two wins came at 133, where Sean Rinebolt was an 11-0 winner over Jaden Nelson, and 157, where Cameron Hatchett defeated Weston Hirschi, 15-9.
