Women's Soccer Wins on Senior Day

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team took a 9-0 over Hollins University Saturday afternoon on the team's senior day.

The Hornets (9-2-4, 4-1-3 ODAC) scored four goals in the first half and five in the second as the team honored its six seniors in the win over Hollins (1-11-0, 0-8-0).

IN BRIEF

Shenandoah honored seniors Lexi DiSora, Maya Horner, Kira Ketelhut, Bryanna Marinari, Valeria Pomales and Caroline Stansbury just before the opening kickoff.

Five of the six seniors registered a shot in the game, with Marinari leading the pack with two assists.

Alexis Andrews got the scoring started in the 5th minute. 30 minutes later Kylie Malone scored two goals in less than 20 seconds, with Andrews finding Malone in the box for the team's third goal. Right before the half came to an end Andrews found the back of the net again for her final goal of the afternoon.

After the two teams came out of the half, Madison Hieber got her third goal of the season. Lena Parker scored later in the half to put Shenandoah up 6-0. Jenna Caple got the assist on Parker's goal.

Malone scored in the 66th and 77th minute to add to her four-goal afternoon. The goal party wrapped up in the 79th minute as Audrey Atwell got herself in the scoring column.

20 Shenandoah players saw action in the game with 15 of them registering a point. Shenandoah ended the game with 33 shots on goal.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah plays at Virginia Wesleyan at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in an ODAC match.
