Men's Soccer Ties Nationally Ranked Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer program tied its Wednesday night ODAC match, 1-1, on the road at the No. 24 University of Lynchburg.

Nathan Yared scored for SU (4-3-3, 1-1-2 ODAC) early in the match but a goal in the 88th minute by LYN (9-1-1, 3-0-1) forced the tie, giving each team a point in the league standings.

IN BRIEF
With Shenandoah threatening on a corner kick, Lynchburg's defense kicked away the ball right by the goalline, but with Yared sitting at the top of the box, the ball found his foot as he rocketed it right past the crowd of Hornets for the opening goal. Yared now has five goals this season.

The goal proved to be SU's only shot on goal during the match.

Travis Jett stopped two LYN shots in the first half to keep his team up at the halfway point.

The two squads of Hornets weren't able to get anything done in the second half until Lynchburg evened up the score in the final minutes with a long shot from outside the box.

Shenandoah had four players with a shot in the game.
