Volleyball Falls to Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Shenandoah University volleyball team lost 3-1 at Gallaudet University on Wednesday night in a non-conference game.

The Hornets (8-18) won the second set 27-25 while the Bisons (28-3) took the three other sets 25-21, 25-21, 25-15.

IN BRIEF
Gallaudet gained the lead in the first set after trailing 8-4 against Shenandoah. The Bisons went on a six-point run helped out by three service aces. Kills by Jillian Warter, Cheyenne Price and Kylie Danella put SU back in the lead, 11-10. However, Gallaudet crawled back and took the set.

In the second, it was Shenandoah's turn to return the favor and take the lead. They trailed 16-11 halfway through the set and went on a 15-9 run to close out the set. Tied at 25, Warter picked up a kill, forcing set point. Cara Butler ended the set with a service ace.

The third set was close with 12 ties and four lead changes. Only up by one, Gallaudet got three consecutive points to win. Gallaudet won the match in the fourth set as they had three separate four-point runs to push past Shenandoah.

Reagan Minney led the team with nine kills, while Aaliyah Chunn was right behind her with eight. Danella had 36 assists in the match. Chunn and Price combined for seven block assists.
