WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's basketball team released its 2023-24 schedule Friday afternoon, as announced by head coach Melissa Smeltzer-Kraft.

The Hornets' season is highlighted by rematches from the 2023 ODAC Tournament against Eastern Mennonite, Randolph-Macon, Bridgewater and defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee.

Shenandoah opens its season at home against Hollins on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. Three days later, SU hosts Mount Aloysius before heading to Virginia Beach for its first road game versus Virginia Wesleyan on Nov. 15.

Shenandoah participates in the Randolph-Macon Tournament on Nov. 18-19 when they play in Ashland, Virginia, against Mary Washington and Catholic.

The first month of the season wraps up with two home conference games versus Randolph and EMU.

Three of the four games in December are road contests for the Hornets. SU travels to Averett, Southern Virginia and Wilson during the first week of the month. The 2023 calendar year closes out at the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics and Events Center versus Goucher.

The first game of the new year is the final non-conference game for Smeltzer-Kraft's team, as they travel to Salisbury. The Hornets defeated the Sea Gulls last season, 65-52, in the second-ever meeting between the universities.

Ferrum and Guilford come to Winchester to begin a stretch of 13 straight ODAC contests for SU. Shenandoah plays the two teams again, this time on the road at Ferrum on Jan. 27 and at Guilford on Feb. 17. The latter game closes out the regular season.

Roanoke College hosts Shenandoah on Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. before SU visits defending ODAC champion W&L for a rematch of last season's ODAC championship game on Jan. 17.

The battle of the ODAC Hornets is set for Jan. 20, as Lynchburg travels to Shenandoah for the third straight season. SU has won six of the last seven meetings against Lynchburg.

Shenandoah hosts Randolph-Macon on Jan. 24 in a rematch of the 2022 ODAC championship game and 2023 ODAC quarterfinals. SU defeated R-MC in each of those meetings, both as the lower-seeded team.

Shenandoah then plays Randolph, Averett, Randolph-Macon and Roanoke, all rematches from earlier in the season. The latter is the final home contest of the season for SU.

Smeltzer-Kraft's 10th regular season at the helm closes out on the road at Bridgewater on Feb. 14 and Guilford on Feb. 17.

The Hornets have 132 all-time wins over their 2023-24 opponents.
