Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va – The Shenandoah University men's tennis team made their 2023 fall debut over the weekend in Newport News, Va at the CNU Fall Invite hosted by Christopher Newport University at Eyre Courts. 
 
Royal East Division
 
Artem Babaiev would fall in straight sets in his opening-round matchup with Felix Bevc  of Virginia Wesleyan University by a score of 6-3, 6-1.
 
Jovan Cirkovic would drop his quarterfinal match with Ole Behrmann from Virginia Wesleyan University by scores of 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 in the tiebreaker.
 
Royal West Division
 
Babaiev would drop his semifinals match in the Royal West 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
 
Cirkovic won his semifinal match and then would go on to win in the championship match of the Royal West division in straight sets, 6-4,6-2.
 
Gray East Division
 
Anton McCloskey would fall in his opening match of the year 6-0, 6-1.
 
Neal Love would drop his quarterfinal match to Jorge Urgal 6-1, 6-1.  Love would then drop his next match in the semifinals to the Captains Peter Karanski 6-4,6-1.
 
White East Division
 
Keith Orr suffered an opening loss to Ryan Monroe of Christopher Newport 6-3,6-4. 
 
Dominick Suwak would fall in his semifinal match but then would come back and win the championship match against Monroe to win the White East 6-3, 7-5.
 
White West
 
Keith Orr would pick up a pair of victories in the semifinals by a score of 6-3,6-4 before going on to win the championship match against Christopher Newport 5-7, 6-4. 10-4.
 
Doubles Action   
 
In the Royal East Doubles division the teams of Keith Orr/Dominick Suwak and Jovan Cirkovic/Artem Babaiev would win their quarterfinals doubles matches before both teams would fall in the semifinals
 
In the White Main Draw, Babaiev/Cirkovic, Orr/Suwak, Love/McCloskey would all fall in their doubles matches.
 
Next up the Hornets, will participate in the ITA Regional Small College Championships hosted by Mary Washington from September 29^th – October, 1^st.
