ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Shenandoah University wrestling team took to the mats in the Lehigh Valley on Saturday, participating in the Scotty Wood Duals hosted by Muhlenberg College. The Hornets (1-3) started the day strong with a dominant 51-3 victory over Keystone College but fell short in subsequent matchups against Muhlenberg (46-6), Lycoming (35-15), and Messiah (43-7).

Dual 1: Shenandoah Defeats Keystone, 51-3
Shenandoah capitalized on a shorthanded Keystone lineup, earning five victories via forfeit to jump out to a commanding 30-0 lead.
At 141 pounds, Sean Rinebolt secured a first-period fall over Justin Santiago, and Hunter Ballantine followed with another pin at 149 pounds. While Keystone picked up their lone win at 197 pounds, Rives Hargis closed out the dual with a hard-fought 8-5 decision at 285 pounds, giving the Hornets a decisive win.
Dual 2: Muhlenberg Tops Shenandoah, 46-6
The Hornets faced a tough challenge against the host Mules in their second dual. Despite early close matches, with Anakin Burks and Heath Burks losing narrow decisions at 125 and 133 pounds respectively, Muhlenberg extended their lead with strong performances across the lineup.
Cannon Long provided a highlight for the Hornets, earning a lightning-fast pin just 23 seconds into his match at 157 pounds. However, Muhlenberg proved too strong, securing bonus-point victories in the remaining bouts.
Dual 3: Lycoming Outlasts Shenandoah, 35-15
The Hornets stayed competitive against Lycoming, with Sean Rinebolt igniting the effort at 141 pounds, recording his second pin of the day. Brendan Orr added a 10-4 decision at 157 pounds, and Cannon Long notched another first-period pin at 165 pounds. Despite the Hornets' efforts, Lycoming controlled the upper weights, finishing the dual with four consecutive pins to claim the victory.
Dual 4: Messiah Defeats Shenandoah, 43-7
Shenandoah opened its final dual with promise as Anakin Burks earned a decision victory at 125 pounds. Rives Hargis added another win for the Hornets, securing a fall at 285 pounds. However, Messiah showcased depth and skill across the board, winning eight consecutive bouts, including multiple tech falls and pins, to seal the win.
