GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Shenandoah University wrestling team returned to action at the prestigious Petrofes Invitational, hosted by Messiah University. After a competitive first day, the Hornets stand in 12th place among the 15 participating teams, with two standout wrestlers advancing to day two.

Dylan Weaver made Shenandoah history by becoming the program's first wrestler to achieve 100 career victories. Competing at 174 pounds, Weaver started the tournament strong with back-to-back wins by fall, including the milestone-setting match. Although he dropped a major decision to Nolen Ziegler (Lycoming) in his third bout, Weaver bounced back with a decisive 4-2 victory over Anthony Matas (Misericordia). His resilient performance ensures his contention for a podium finish as he competes tomorrow.

Joining Weaver in the second day of competition is Anakin Burks at 125 pounds. The sophomore also impressed, securing two falls in his opening matches before falling by major decision to Kaden Majcher (Lycoming). Undeterred, Burks rebounded with a dominant tech fall win over Jaydin Barretto (Misericordia) to book his place in Saturday's action.
