Men's Tennis Defeats Fighting Scots, 7-2

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - On the first day of Shenandoah's spring break trip, the SU men's tennis team defeated The College of Wooster, 7-2, in a non-conference game on Monday afternoon.

The Hornets (3-3) swept doubles competition and got victories on courts one, three, five, and six in the team's win over the Fighting Scots (4-3).

In their first win as a duo, Anton McCloskey and Aryanth Chintharlapalli won their doubles match 8-2 while teammates Artem Babaiev and Keith Orr did the same thing on court one to wrap up the two SU wins in doubles.

Jovan Cirkovic represented SU on court one in singles and fell behind after the first set but took the second set 6-1 and won the tiebreaker to get the victory. Dominick Suwak and McCloskey each won their singles match 6-1, 6-1, with Suwak's being the first singles match to finish on the day.

The final win for the Hornets came on court five with Chintharlapalli winning his first singles match as a Hornet 6-1, 6-2.

UP NEXT
Shenandoah plays Lake Forest College tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the team's second match at Hilton Head Island.
