Men's Tennis Defeats Maroons, 9-0

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team gained its fourth shutout win of the season in a 9-0 final versus Roanoke College at home in ODAC action.

The day for the Hornets (11-5, 5-1) started with an 8-1 win in doubles for Aryanth Chintharlappi and Anton McCloskey, which then carried over to two 6-0, 6-0 victories in singles for SU in the win over the Maroons (9-5, 1-3)

Artem Babaiev had one of the sweeps in singles in his match on court No. 3. Dominick Suwak, the reigning ODAC Player of the Week, did the same in singles No. 1. Babaiev paired with Keith Orr for doubles and the duo won, 8-3.

For Suwak, he teamed with Jovan Cirkovic and they had the closest doubles match, with a 8-6 win. Cirkovic handled the Maroons in singles competition, winning 6-1, 6-4.

Orr won in a pair of 6-1 sets and McCloskey saw himself in the win column with his 6-4, 6-2 win.

The afternoon was rounded out by a win for Neal Love. Love took the first set 6-3 and in the second set won 7-6, and got the final point in a 7-5 tiebreaker.
