Men's Tennis Earns Third Straight 9-0 WIn

ASHLAND, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team continued its ODAC winning streak with a 9-0 victory over Randolph-Macon on Saturday on the road. 

The Hornets (13-5, 7-1 ODAC) shutout the Yellow Jackets (2-10, 1-7) for their third consecutive 9-0 win and sixth shutout victory of the season.

The day started with an 8-0 win on doubles for Aryanth Chintharlappi and Anton McCloskey. SU continued its success as Keith Orr and Artem Babaiev won 8-2, while Dominick Suwak and Jovan Cirkovic rounded out doubles with an 8-3 win.

In singles, Orr and McCloskey each earned 6-0, 6-0 victories to lock up the win for Shenandoah. Suwak and Cirkovic each only allowed one point as Suwak won 6-1, 6-0, while Cirkovic won 6-0, 6-1.

Babaiev gained a pair of 6-1 sets to take his match on court No. 1 and SU completed the afternoon with Chintharlappi's 6-2, 6-2 win on court No. 5.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah currently sits second in the ODAC standings and plays its regular season finale tomorrow morning against Virginia Wesleyan University, which is currently third in the conference.
