Malone and Wilson Help Women's Soccer to 2-0 Win

WINCHESTER, Va. - A goal in each half propelled the Shenandoah University women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Penn State Harrisburg at home on Saturday in non-conference play.

Kylie Malone got the party started with a goal in the 33rd minute while Kirklyn Wilson added to the Hornets' (4-3-1) totals with a tally in the 59th minute. With the win over the Lions (2-4-2), SU remains unbeaten at home in 2024.

RECAP

Shenandoah controlled the possession early and it finally paid off as Kylie Malone worked her way into the box and buried the ball in the back of the net to put Shenandoah on top, 1-0.

In the second half, Penn State Harrisburg looked to tie and it looked like they had beaten the Hornets' defense but goalie Kasie Kilmer made a leaping save in the 52nd minute, keeping SU up, 1-0.

Minutes later, SU worked in transition as Audrey Atwell pushed a pass towards a sprinting Kirklyn Wilson, with Wilson beating the defender to the ball and launching the ball into the cage.

Following the SU goal, they were held without a shot for the remainder of the game. Kilmer made two saves in the final 20 minutes of play, adding to her total of four.
