SALEM, Va. – The Shenandoah University wrestling team faced a challenging night on the road, falling to conference rival Roanoke College, 40-10, on Thursday evening. The Hornets (3-6, 1-2 ODAC) have been dealing with a string of injuries, forcing them to forfeit three weight classes and start the match in a significant deficit.
Despite the setbacks, Shenandoah secured two hard-fought victories. At 141 pounds, Sean Rinebolt earned a dominant 10-2 major decision. Additionally, Bryan Mpengo showcased resilience at 164 pounds, overcoming an early first-round take down to secure a victory by fall in the third period.
