LEXINGTON, Va. – The Shenandoah University wrestling team traveled to face Washington and Lee in an ODAC dual, falling 40-6 to the Generals.
The Hornets (3-8, 1-4) secured their lone victory at 141 pounds, where Sean Rinebolt delivered an impressive third-period fall.
Match Results
- 125 pounds – Anakin Burks controlled the match with a 15-3 lead in the second period, but a late takedown by the Generals resulted in a 24-15 loss, giving W&L an early 4-0 advantage.
- 133 pounds – Xavier Ramsey fell by major decision, 16-3, to Calvin Wiederner.
- 141 pounds – Sean Rinebolt, trailing late in the third period, fought back with an escape and a takedown before securing a fall to put the Hornets on the board.
- 149 pounds – Manny Lucas was defeated by technical fall, 20-4, in the first period.
- 157 pounds – Cannon Long lost by major decision, 16-3.
- 165 pounds – Jalen Cornelius suffered a second-period fall.
- 174 pounds – Dylan Weaver battled hard but ultimately fell by decision, 7-4.
- 184 pounds – Dylan Wiegert jumped out to an early 6-2 lead but was unable to secure the final takedown he needed, losing by decision, 14-10.
- 197 pounds – The Hornets forfeited this weight class due to the absence of a wrestler.
- 285 pounds – Rives Hargis was Shenandoah's final opportunity to score, but the Generals proved too strong, securing a 22-5 technical fall victory.
