Hornets Shine in Classroom with 3.30 GPA

93 Student-Athletes Earn a 4.0 in Fall Semester

The Shenandoah University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics achieved a department GPA of 3.30 during the Fall 2024 semester, marking the highest GPA in nearly five years.

Of the 22 sports, 18 teams earned at least a 3.0 GPA, with all 11 women's programs achieving above a 3.30. Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) champions field hockey led the department with a 3.83 GPA, while women's basketball followed closely with a 3.81.

On the men's side, cross country led the way in the classroom with a 3.61 GPA. Golf and baseball rounded out the top three for the men's teams with GPAs of 3.53 and 3.46, respectively.

Across all teams, 93 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, while 298 student-athletes earned Dean's List status with at least a 3.50 GPA. Field hockey and softball each had at least 10 student-athletes with a 4.0, while 12 teams had at least 10 student-athletes with a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
