Women's Soccer Blanks Randolph, 4-0

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team defeated Randolph College, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon for the team's fourth straight shutout.

The Hornets (7-6-3, 5-2-0 ODAC) surged for three second half goals, while McKenna Newcome netted her ninth goal of the season, which is tied for third in the ODAC. Molly Donaldson made one save in the shutout over the WildCats (6-6-1, 3-4-0).

RECAP

In the 30th minute, Newcome put the Hornets up 1-0, breaking the scoreless tie. SU outshot RC 9-0 in the first, with Kirklyn Wilson, Kaitlyn Wahl, and Newcome getting shots on target.

In the 47th minute, Newcome picked up another point in the game, assisting on a Lauren Duffy goal, which put SU up 2-0. Exactly five minutes later, Duffy found herself in the assist column, as Peyton Lubinsky scored her first of the season.

Kylie Malone added the Hornets' fourth goal of the contest in the 89th minute, capping off the win.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah currently sits third in the ODAC standings with three games left. The Hornets host Eastern Mennonite University this Wednesday at 4 p.m.
