Women's Soccer Defeated by Marlins, 4-0

Virginia Beach, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team lost 4-0 at Virginia Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon in an ODAC game.

The Hornets (3-6-3, 1-2-0 ODAC) and Marlins (8-2-1, 3-1-0) entered the second half scoreless, but three goals from the home team in an 11-minute span opened up the scoring, in the shutout win for VWU.

IN BRIEF

The defenses held the teams to a combined one shot on goal in the first half, despite 13 shot attempts. Molly Donaldson made the lone save of the first half for SU.

Following shots by Kaitlyn Wahl and McKenna Newcome in the early going of the second half, Virginia Wesleyan went on to score three goals in 15 minutes, all coming from the same player. 

The Hornets had three shots to end the shutout bid but were denied, as VWU went on to win 4-0.

Donaldson made six saves in the game. Newcome, Wahl, and Lauren Duffy each had multiple shots for SU.
