Banks Records Career-Highs in Win at Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - The No. 24 Shenandoah University women's basketball team earned its fourth straight win on Saturday afternoon in a 79-57 victory at Salisbury University in a non-conference game.

Addisyn Banks contributed career-highs in points (26) and rebounds (12) for her fourth double-double of the season for the Hornets (9-1). Senior Emily Williams also had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the win over the Sea Gulls (7-4).

RECAP

Shenandoah was red hot in the first quarter, going 11-12 from the field in the opening frame, led by nine points from Banks. SU trailed 13-12 but ended the quarter on a 16-2 run to lead by 13 heading into the second.

The second quarter started with a three-pointer from Brynna Nesselrodt, but the Sea Gulls answered with two of their own to get the deficit down to 10. A 9-0 in the late going of the quarter brought the Sea Gulls' deficit to seven points. Shenandoah ended the half with back-to-back threes from Banks and Skai Bayless to hold a 13-point advantage.

Shenandoah's lead grew to 20 by the halfway point of the third quarter, prior to Salisbury going on another 9-0 run. Just before the third quarter buzzer, Bayless connected with Williams for a jumper that ensured a 15-point lead for SU.

The lead only continued to grow in the fourth for Shenandoah, helped by a 10-2 run. Free throws by Nesselrodt and Reagan Smith gave SU a 22-point lead, its largest of the afternoon, to close out the victory.
