Men's Tennis Hooks Marlins, 5-2

Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team downed Virginia Wesleyan University, 5-2, on Sunday in an ODAC match on the road.

The Hornets (6-4, 4-1 ODAC) lost the team point in doubles but recovered and took five singles matches against the Marlins (5-7, 3-2).

Dominick Suwak dominated on court one with 6-1, 6-1 win. Suwak pushed his singles win streak to five with the victory. Artem Babaiev defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-2 while Marvin Kuehnelt won 6-2, 6-3 to round out the two set matches.

Jovan Cirkovic took the first set of his match, 6-1, but dropped the middle frame. The graduate student answered back with a 6-2 decision in the third set.

Shine Tokas assisted the Hornets in clinching the win with a thrilling 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 win. The final set came down to a 7-5 tiebreaker.

Shenandoah host Ferrum in an ODAC match at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
