Bellenbaum Earns ODAC Defensive Player of the Week for Men's Volleyball's First ODAC Award

FOREST, Va. - Following its first pair of games in program history, the Shenandoah University men's volleyball team earned its first-ever ODAC Player of the Week honor as Simon Bellenbaum earned the conference's weekly defensive honor on Monday afternoon.

Bellenbaum helped the Hornets to a 1-1 weekend at the Regent tri-match featuring the Royals and Randolph College. SU defeated Regent 3-0 in its second game for the program's first-ever victory.

The first-year accumulated six solo blocks and eight digs on the defensive side of the court, with three blocks in each game and five digs versus the Royals. Offensively, Bellenbaum had six kills on a .417 hitting percentage across 12 total attacks.

Bellenbaum is a middle hitter from York Suburban High School in York, Pennsylvania.

The Hornets are in action this Saturday at Roanoke College for a tri-match.
