Men's Soccer's Unbeaten Streak Stopped by No. 6 Lynchburg

WINCHESTER, Va. - In the battle of the ODAC Hornets, the Shenandoah University men's soccer team's seven-game unbeaten streak came to an end on Wednesday night as No. 6 University of Lynchburg defeated them 2-0 at home.

LYN (10-1-2, 4-0-1 ODAC) scored a goal in each half as their defense held SU (5-3-5, 2-1-2) to only one shot on target in the entire contest.

RECAP

The first 25 minutes of the game were a defensive battle, with Aidan King-Miller making three stops for Shenandoah during that span. Lynchburg broke the deadlock in the 28th minute after breaking past the SU backline.

A Lynchburg pass that was redirected off a Shenandoah player led to the second goal of the game for the visitors in the 61st minute.

Chase Prado had the best look for Shenandoah all night as he picked up a second-half header which was saved at the doorstep of the goal, helping LYN maintain its two-goal lead.

King-Miller finished the game with four saves for Shenandoah. The goalkeeper now has four games this season with at least four stops.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah's home this Saturday at 5 p.m. against Roanoke College. Later that evening the 1989 SU men's soccer team will be inducted into the department's Hall of Fame with a ceremony in the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center.
